Ann, The most glamorous nan I’ve ever come across. Even though Olly and I weren’t her granddaughters you wouldn’t have known it. She spoilt us as if we were her own. I will always remember the birthday parties for the girls at Anna and Brian’s, as they always had a bouncy castle with a great spread! Even when we had finished Ann would secretly stuff our pockets with more treats. But the thing we will never forget is Christmas Day with Ann. The Spencer/ Sanga Christmas! Where do I even begin with stories like this. From frozen tables to board game arguments to gravy out of tea pots, I don’t think Ann quite knew what each Christmas would bring but it always had endless laughter. Now the last couple of years haven’t been too easy watching you become so ill. But you have always smiled, stayed glamorous and always grabbed our hand and told us what we looked liked as babies. Ann today we aren’t saying goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting. But we will never forget you. This year as we sit round the Christmas table it’s going to feel quite strange but I know your laughter will be echoing in our ears. Ann you never stopped being fabulous. As Coco Chanel once said, “Elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as the outside.” Love, Araminta and Olivier
